The SASS serial numbers were SASS specific. The numbers were their SASS ID numbers. The SASS could be at the beginning as is the above revolver, SASS at the end or split with SA in the beginning and SS at the end of the serial number.

Collectors refer to these revolvers as “SASS Shooter”.
